Outlook 2000 Contacts to Address Book sort order

My Outlook 2000 Contacts are displayed in Last name/First name order. But
those same contacts, when displayed in the Address Book, are in First
name/Last name order! (who is the brain dead MS programmer who wrote this
code? - rhetorical question no need for an answer)... My computer is an IMB
600X running Windows 2000 Pro SP4 and Office 2000 SR-1a.

How can Address Book function be made to display names in same Last/First
order as Contacts??? Would Office 2000 SP3 correct this problem???

Interesting sidelight - I just upgraded from Office 97 and a standalone copy
of Outlook 2000, to Office 2000 which includes its own copy of Outlook 2000.
The Standalone copy of Outlook 2000 would display the Address Book in
Last/First order, but the bundled copy of Outlook 2000 in Office 2000 will
not! Go figure!?

If anyone can tell me how to get Outlook 2000 in Office 2000 to display
Address Book contact names in Last/First order, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Army Man

Depends. Are you using Outlook 2000 in IMO or CW mode? Help>About will
tell you.

I cycled through all facets of the About Outlook screens... there was no
mention of IMO or CW mode... What do those abbreviations stand for? What is
the significence of one mode versus another? How else might I tell which mode
I am operating under?

He told you. Help > About
Line 2 returns your mail support mode: Internet Mail Only or Corp/Workgroup
