How do i keep Windows Messenger from automatically
starting each time i open Outlook 2003?

Open Windows Messenger and under the options, uncheck the option to open
automatically when Windows starts.

Ubchecking the messenger on start as that other guy said
does just that...stops it from starting with windows but
doesnt solve the issue you are ferring to which is even if
its not started on the boot, starting Outlook still makes
it run and sometimes in the background. I have the same
prob.

Tools->options->other->uncheck the option to integrate Messenger with
outlook.
