Outlk 2003 appt reminders failing

Have been using Outlook 2003 Calendar in an office
setting for about 3 months. Only using one calendar
(i.e. user)as there is only one individual scheduling
appointments. We also synchronize the calendar to a Palm
handheld w/o problems on a daily basis. However, this
morning the "pop-up" reminders have suddenly stopped
working.

We get the following error message when starting up the
Outlook calendar:

'There was a problem reading one or
more of your reminders. Some reminders may not appear.
Cannot locate recurrence information for this
appointment.'

We have tried starting the Outlook calendar using
the /CleanReminders switch and get the following message:

'Cannot start the reminder service. Unable to show
reminders'


Please help!! This is used in a doctor's office and we
really need to get it working again. Thank you.
