Outlines

R

Richard

I have recently upgraded to Excel 2003 and I tried to
apply an outline to a spreadsheet. This is a task that I
have done before, but not for some time.
I have a spreadsheet that has subtotals under the
detailed data throughout the sheet. When I click into the
sheet go to Data, Group and Outline, Autooutline, the
sheet flick but I do not see the +/- signs on the left
hand side. The only way to compress/hide the detail is to
go to the data menu, group and outline again and select
hide detail.
The help menu displays the view that I want so I must
have missed something in the set up.
Thanks for your help.

You should stay with your original thread instead of starting another one in
another group.
Most of the regulars here monitor all the groups.

What happened when you tried yesterday's suggestion in the Functions group
from DDM to go to:
<Tools> <Options> <View> tab,
And make sure that "OutLine Symbnols" *is* checked?
