outgoing email

everytime i either reply or initiate an email I get the
following message"A program is trying to access e-mail
addresses you have stored in outlook". Allow, yes or no
I press no in case its a virus- I have run Norton,
dowloaded all recent MS updates, cleared the cache,
deleted cookie files, deleted contents of the temporary
internet file folders, cleared history entries and still
cannot get this to go away. Please advise.
 
Is this Outlook 2002 and have you recently applied Office XP SP3? If so,
it's a known issue with SP3; security has been updated to more closely match
the security in Outlook 2003. You may be able to get around the problem by
either disabling Word as your e-mail editor or updating some of your
add-ins, especially virus scanners and spam filters (many major
manufacturers have already released compatible updates). See the following
