Outdated OS choices at startup nuisance

I created a partition on my hard drive and installed a second copy of Win XP
there, so the drive could be used temporarily with another computer without
disturbing my system. At that stage it had 2 partitions, win XP on each, and
offered the choice of OS at startup. Now that the drive is back in my own
machine, I successfully wiped the second partition clean, and then deleted
the partition with the BootIt Next Generation utility. The partition no
longer displays in the directory, but the machine still offers the choice of
OS at startup, and unfortunately, the default choice is the one that has been
deleted, and if left unattended, will error. It starts up fine if I make the
selection. How do I get rid of the "choose OS" screen entirely? Thanks.
