Outbox will not complete the sending of a forwarded message

I recently received an email with a large attachment file to my regular email
account and forwarded it to another person; othere emails I have forwarded
this way quickly go out and on their way to the recipient. This one,
however, has been stuck, still sitting in my outbox for a week now (the error
message when I close outlook is 'still sending'. I choose 'exit without
sending' so of course when I open up Outlook again it is still there. I
cannot delete it, open it, file it.......nothing touches this supposedly
'sending' message.
Anyone out there know how to get it out? At this point, I do not need the
message forwarded. I just want to delete it.

Try setting OL to offline mode, wait then exit OL
Wait then open OL, see if you can now delete.
If so after deletion set to online, wait, exit, wait, restart OL

I too had the same problem. I did not try the offline mode. However, what I
did was to go to tools, email options, remove the email setup that hosts this
message (I did not loose any of my emails or folders, etc). I then closed
the Outlook and reopened it. I then went back to tools and set up a new
email. Just make sure you check all your settings before you do this, so
when you reset your email, they are the same.
After I did this, the "stuck" Outgoing message was gone.
