Hi, All

I would like to ask you a question regarding one function of Outlook Express
or Outlook.

Since I got a mail from someone with the subject: Out of Office AutoReply

Of course I sent them mail before and they just out of their office and I
think they did some setting so that the system can auto reply to the sender
for them.

So do you know how to make it?? Thank you very much!

If you are in an Exchange environment (ask your administrator if you do
notknow) you can set the Out of the Office Assistant which is located under
Tools.

If you are not in an Exchange environment you can create a rule that replies
on all e-mails. The downside of this is that you'll have to have your
Outlook open all the time for the rules to process. Make sure you set some
exceptions (for instance based on the subject field so it will not reply on
subject with e.g. reply, failed, undeliverable, etc...) otherwhise you could
create endless mailloops between two mailservers and those can be a real
threat to the mailservers!

In Message Rules (in OE), there's an option to Reply with Message. You
create a message that you want to go to recipients in response to a
message of theirs, and you save it in a folder outside of OE. It will
have an .eml extension. Create a message and click File > Save.

Then create a Message Rule and choose Reply with Message as the action.
Then select the message you saved. The Message Rule dialog box will lead
you where you need to go to do this.

Hi,

For Outlook 2002, in the outlook screen, select toolbar
Tools, and you'll see an option Out of Office Assistant.
Click on that and you'll get what you want. I believe
Outlook Express has such functions as well. Wish you good
luck.

And one more opinion:

If you do this, you will have to leave your computer on 24/7, be
connected to the internet, and have OE open. If you want do this
anyway, the link below will explain how to do it. One thing I would
suggest is that where it says to create a rule and check For All
Messages, you change it and make the rule for people in your address
book only. Otherwise you will be replying to Spam as well.

If this is a personnel computer of your own, your ISP may be able to
provide this service for you.
