I have a problem with the ooa, it will only reply to
internal contacts in sbs2000. There was the same problem
in sbs4.5 but the fix for it does not exist in sbs2000.
This is causing me major headaches so any help you can
give me would be greatly recieved

The administrator will want to look at MSKB 262352 to open up out of office
replies to the Internet.

Note that a lot of companies don't like to do this - you're going to be
replying to all the spammers, verifying your e-mail address....

I have turned on the global setting within SBS 2000 Exchange, (KB262352), but it still does not work. I have tested this feature with my own Exchange 2000 server and anothe client site and it works fine. I have tested it on two other sites and it does not work. The only difference is the fact that the sites it works on host their own email within Exchange. The other sites use ISP pop email accounts. Is this the problem? Is it the ISP email server that is stopping the "out-of-office" feature from working? Thanks.

The sending of receipts such as the Out of Office is client based. Sending
delivery receipts is controlled by the ISP since it is a server side action.

Exchange needs to be handling all the mail, both internal and Internet, in
order for this to work. Suggest that they change over from POP to hosting
their own mail - it's a better setup in any case.
