Oulook add in problem

E

Emjaykay

Hi,

When I load Microsoft Outlook I get an error message as follows

C:\documents and settings\administrator\application
data\Microsoft\addins\c:\program files\Microsoft office\office\sbcsync.dll
is not a valid add-in

In addition I am also getting 2 personal folders with the same information
and mails in both. I have looked at the hidden folders and files relating to
the error message and were Outlook stores: I
cannot find anything in these folders.

I have a disabled add in my Outlook 'About' folder which is for the
Bluetooth module. It is a new laptop and I have just transferred all my
stuff across.

Any ideas?

Mick.

For the error message issue, see if http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q235009/
solves it for you.

When you have two identical sets of Personal Folders in Outlook, it is
likely that you have a corrupt profile -- possibly caused by overwriting one
..PST file (usually the one installed in the default location) with another.
You don't say which version of Outlook you're using, but unless you're using
Outlook 98 or 2000 in Internet Mail Only mode, you should be able to delete
the corrupt profile in Control Panel | Mail | Show Profiles, then create a
new profile from scratch and tell it which .PST to use.

Jocelyn,

Brilliant. Thanks a bunch that did the trick. Buy yourself a beer (or a
glass of wine!)
