OTS: Is there an EWF equivalent for XP Pro Desktop?

Just wondering. If it were impossible to change the OS partition, it'd be a
lot easier to repair my parents machine after they keep getting
viruses/spyware.

PS: If you have only one computer to maintain you should install everything and then use backup wizard from other OS to pack all
files so you can always get them back.
EWF, ReadyOn etc are not easy solutions for configuring or using on one computer.
