seriousness as well. Also you might want to look into what Symantec products
(especially) AntiVirus, leave behind when removing them. It ain't funny. I
am interested in what you find as I'm looking for an alternative firewall to
use to the Windows one and ZoneAlarm for reasons far from the article
(weblink) orginally posted.

Well, in my research of Zonealarm so far, I have not found much. What I
do have thus far:
The allegations, of course:
http://www.a1-electronics.net/General_Interest/2005/Security_Nov.shtml
An interesting link contributed by an MVP earlier in this thread:
http://community.freespeech.org/forum/viewtopic.php?forum=9&showtopic=1280&fromblock=yes
Which leads to a few more links:
http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=29157
http://www.infoworld.com/article/06/01/13/73792_03OPcringley_1.html
I also found this link:
http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=29254
Next I went to the Zone Labs privacy policy which had some interesting
things to say:
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/privacy.jsp?dc=12bms&ctry=US&lang=en
"Analyzing Security Alerts, "AlertAdvisor":
When the Zone Labs product detects a security threat to your computer,
you can click on the "More Information" button from the product dialog
box. At that point, the product sends the information about the event
and your computer to Zone Labs to be analyzed. Zone Labs will display in
your browser more specific guidance about the security information."
The above clip was the closest thing I could find to these allegations.
In the privacy policy, they also had an email address for concerns
about privacy, so I sent an email there with the link to the allegations
and asked them what they could tell me about it. Still waiting for a
response.
I found these posts in the Zone Lab forums:
http://forums.zonelabs.com/zonelabs/search?type=Message&q=infoworld&page_size=100
The closest I could come to a company response to these allegations was
this:
http://castlecops.com/t145287-ZoneAlarm_6_0_quot_phones_home_quot.html
The say it was posted on the forums, but when I search there for it
repeatedly, I can't seem to find it.
This is as far as my research has gone. What does it say? Nothing
clear yet. I am interested in the response back from Zone Labs to my email.
