Has anyone had any luck using a optical drive in XP that will read RAM
files. If so which one.
Posting this here as I cant think of a more knowledgeable group of people.

I don't doubt that many people who post here are more knowledgable than me.
Nonetheless, if you are referring to DVD-RAM disks then yes, there are
consumer DVD readers that can read and write DVD-RAM disks. They're not too
common, though. Not yet. Two that I know of are the Toshiba SD-R5372 and the
Pacific Digital Mach 16 U-30264. You might check the internet for reviews on
these drives.

Personally I've used the LG 4163B with no problems.
