Port scanners don't scan for trojans, per se, they scan for open ports.
I second the recommendation for TDS 3. It's really a nice product. Even has
port scanner and stuff, not too useful if you have decent auditing tools, but
cool nevertheless.
Virus scanners should be able to detect trojans (because they're viruses).
Well I've seen plenty of stuff get past NAV and AVG. TDS 3 is a bit better for
trojans, and can sometimes clean them as well.
Tauscan and Trojanhunter are easier to use, but I don't like them as much.
