[OT] Public Wi-Fi Facilities Directory or Map Across Country

Is there some sort of wireless access directory for the internet by town, or
according to some map? For example, suppose I was to drive from Chicago to
St. Louis. Is there a way of determine public places where I can hook into
the internet driving between those two cities? Maybe AAA?(!)

Google is your friend. I found a lot of links by using the search term
"find public wireless access".

Here are a few that look promising, but since I haven't used them YMMV.

Thanks. I should have added another thing. Yes, I Googled, but how is one to
know which is best? In other words, which of the many is the most popular
and, I hope, useful? I found one that included two small towns I've been to
recently. One is where I live. Only one somewhat obscure was mentioned. In
the other case, the missed the city provided public wireless place, which is
quite accessible and easy to find.

Wayne,

I've seen this question come up in the DSLR WiFi forum. With the wide
geographic background of the WiFi experts there, your question should be more
readily answered.
