OT: newsgroup performance

What is happening? I get my Excel newsgroups from msnews.microsoft.com. It
is 6:10 local time and the latest message I can see is dated today at
1:44PM. I know there is more action than this. Is it the MS server, my ISP
or my Outlook Express set up?
This was happening before hurricane Juan hit the shores of Nova Scotia!

It's MS's servers. They've been squirrelly since last week - I think
mostly because of the swen worm. In any case, the slave servers
aren't being kept in sync, so fetching headers or articles is hit or
miss.

You may find your ISPs newsserver is more reliable for a while...

I have experienced this and "no longer availables" of very recent messages.
