JDJ's Average Monthly Circulation of More Than 164,000* Copies Reaches
More Readers Than Dr. Dobb's, MSDN, Visual Studio, Windows & .Net
Magazine, MS Certified Professional, and All Other i-Technology
Magazines

SYS-CON Media (www.sys-con.com), the world's leading i-technology
publisher, today announced that Java Developer's Journal's (JDJ)
six-month average monthly circulation through June 2003 is
expected to exceed 164,000* copies.

Java Developer's Journal debuted eight years ago and quickly became
the leading i-technology magazine serving software developers, IT
managers, and corporate decision makers. Right from the start, JDJ
built an impressive reader base, of which 42% are i-technology
managers such as CIOs, CTOs, vice presidents, chief architects, IT
directors and managers, project managers, and actual decision makers.
Based on the most recent readership studies, 8% of JDJ's readers have
corporate management roles, such as
CEO/COO/president/chairman/owner/partner, vice president, department
manager, and other. The remaining 50% of JDJ readers are core software
developers who strongly influence IT purchase decisions.

Perhaps, but I notice that JDJ sends me four copies every month, and
doesn't charge me a cent for any of them. If they make a habit of
that, it may be why they're #1 in circulation.

Sys-Con's .NET Developer Journal, on the other hand, only sends me one
copy a month...

probably balanced out over hundreds of thousands of samples by people
who see the opposite. i actually don't get JDJ (other the occasional
purchase in newstands), but get JavaPro because I participated in
several java conferences.

i would be interested though in seeing # paid subscriptions, although
i suppose the number of "qualified" subscribers does give some rough
idea about a journal's popularity.
