OT. installation for OS's

Someone should write an article (maybe someone has) with step by step
instructions on installing an OS, like the following..........

DO 'A' OK

DO 'B' OK

DO 'C' If 'C' doesn't work, do x then try y then z until 'C' = OK
else
"If z doesn't do it, file CD into waste basket."
DO 'D' OK

DO 'F' If 'F' doesn't work, do x then try y then z until 'F' = OK
else
"If z doesn't do it, file CD into waste basket."
Etc, etc.

The writer should obviously be the producer of the OS.
