OT: Google is the spam portal to USENET

If you've noticed a steep rise in spam posts to your favorite groups,
look at the header information and you'll see almost all spam is
coming from Google. Sure would be nice IMO for real news servers to
eliminate Google user posts. That would eliminate a lot of malicious
trolling too.

I have a filter in my main usenet reader that strips googlegroups
headers. Usenet has been much less irritating and much more
enjoyable since I started using this filter.
