OT - Getting youtube audio into mp3 format

Sorry for the OT-ness but I couldn't find a group that seemed
appropriate. Anyway, does anyone know if there's a way to convert audio
from youtube into mp3 format? There are live songs on there I'd love to
be able to play in the car.

Try using the free program Audacity. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Download the [free] program VDownloader.exe from:
http://www.vdownloader.es/

What you do with is pretty simple.

When you find the link in You-Tube that gets you what you want, right-click
on it and choose 'Copy Shortcut' then you just paste the shortcut into the
'VIDEO URL' box in the program.

Choose what format you want the download converted to from the dropdown list
(loads of formats including MP3).

Finally, click on the 'download' button and choose a location to save your
file.
