Hi all,

Sorry about this off topic post but I really coudn't get answer from the other groups. Hope I can find an answer here.

I've an Asus P4P800 motherboard and recently I just bought my new 512MB PC3200 DDR RAM from crucial which together with my other 512MB RAM, same model from the same manufacturer, I supposed once rebooted, my computer should run in dual channel mode.

However, it's not. I checked already both my motherboard and my CPU support this feature but I really can't figure out why it's not.

Can someone here help me to sort this out? TIA.

Don't know anything about this board but usually in order to achieve
dual-channel DDR you need to place one memory module in each channel,
Typically in slots 1 & 3. If you placed your modules in slots 1 & 2 or 3 & 4
then you're not running dual-channel.

You'd probably get better results asking for advice in an ASUS specific
newsgroup.

Thanks for your kindly feedback. I tried as what you said already. Actually, it's also instructed by the manual that RAM modules should sit in separate channels. Tried different BIOS settings as well. But still couldn't get it work.

Btw, I've posted a topic to the ASUS newsgroup you mentioned but unfortunately there is still no answer. =(
