OT- Congratulations PPT Live 2003!

Yesterday closed the 2003 PowerPoint Live conference, which was held this
week in Tucson, AZ. And these are a few of the things that I came away
with;

- Being totally maxed out on information,
- Ideas that my wildest imagination could not possibly foresee,
- Features I never knew were possible,
- A greater knowledge of the program and it's awesome power,
- A better respect for what *I* really can do with the program,
- Greater desire to stretch myself, and to let my imagination be my guide,
- A renewed determination to challenge the program fit all my needs,
- The priceless community of wonderful new friends and colleagues,
- The wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with many of the PowerPoint
MVP's who attended, and also volunteer their time tirelessly and generously
help those of us on this, and other, newsgroups.
- Five extra pounds that I didn't count on from the great BBQ cookout
provided by Kathryn and Bruce Jacobs and his mom on Tuesday night. Dang!!
Shooo!! ..you could smell that stuff for blocks in every direction. I'm
surprised we didn't have every fire dept. in the area show up 'just in case'
....but, ahmm..well....as long as we're here....<vbg>

A very big thanks to Rick Altman, and all his wonderful staff for taking
care if all of us throughout the conference. And for providing a very
positive format where the best experts, both PPT and Microsoft, were
available to provide the best of a great program to all of us on a one-to
one basis. It is not often that such an opportunity like this is available.
Rick just has a way of making it happen, and in such a wonderfully fun way.
Who says learning, creating and growing can't be fun?? Well.....all I can
say is, they've never Rick yet.....or the rest of the PPT team. ;-))

Thank you all so very much for such a very exciting, fun and beneficial
experience.

from the newsgroup, and all the many people who had never heard of the
newsgroup. I know that we'll be meeting them soon as they drop by and start
contributing their knowledge and experience and asking new questions. I too
got so much from PowerPoint Live. Besides all the great content, the fun
and meeting people, I think that my favorite part was the Help Center.

Next year everything is going to be bigger and better and I'm already
looking forward to it. And as you know, we'll be in your stomping
grounds - - San Diego!

I'm glad you had a good time Jan. Now I know where to go with my tough
questions. So get ready!

I was sorry you were not able to make it this year, and hopefully, you'll be
able to sample the west coast waters next year when PPT Live comes to San
Diego for PPT Live 2004. Being as it will be in my backyard, I am not
without some influence. Shooo....I'll even have the Santee Senior Citizens
TriMobile and Marching Kazoo Band at the airport to greet you! Now....what
more can a body ask for??

I'll be more than glad to look at 'em. No problem! Ahmm...don't know as I
can answer any, but, heck..I'll sure look at 'em. ;-)))

I have to say I was really surprised to find there was such a large number
of PPT users who did not know about the PPT newsgroup. It was really great
that the PPT newsgroup was mentioned several times during the conference,
and information on how to get here available. Don't recall how many I gave
the information to as well, probably anyone I could get to hold still for 5
seconds. <g>

I'm really looking forward to seeing them here and join the great group of
folks who come to learn more about PPT, and share their experience of how
they use PPT in their line of work. I was really amazed to find out how many
ways PPT can be used, proving that it is not just another pretty
Presentation software. It truly is a very versitile tool for creating many
different types of projects. The biggest plus is....it's FUN!

The Help Center really is a tremendous plus. It's like entering a whole new
world, a place where the magic and power of PowerPoint comes alive at your
fingertips in a hands-on, one-to-one experience.

I'm sooo looking forward to having PPT Live 2004 here in my backyard! I've
already glued my 'Piggy' back together and salted the pot for next year.

Jan,
You made three Jacobs' very happy with your post. Glad to hear that you
liked the cookout. What you don't know is that early on in the afternoon, we
did have someone run over thinking there was a fire. It was the cook/chef
from the Art museum cafe. Once he saw what we were doing he calmed down.
When he left work later after we started the chili, he stopped back to tell
us that it smelled great.

Yep...there ya go! A smell like that's e'nuf to make your tongue beat yer
brains out. And, when it tastes as good as it smells...now that's really
living. <g>

I also want to pass a compliment to the volunteer cooks on the grill
too....as they all really did a fine job. I think it put a new spin on how
some MVP's wind up 'taking the heat'. Especially, when someone decided to
do trick shots with a squirt bottle and almost sets the overhead tree leaves
on fire...;-))

(And no.....it wasn't me....they wouldn't let me near it....around...???)

hey jan, I'm running the german site presentation24 which offers all about presentations and I'm writing a report on ppt live. I'd love to ask all attendants of the conference how they took advantage of the topics offered there to solve their problems with ppt. Is it allright with you, if I quoted your statements on ppt live on our site? If yes, could you drop any details, e. g. what was the most useful thing you learned there?
