non-performance. A duron 1600 is faster is most cases then the Celeron
2,8Ghz.

Very true! P4-based Celerons are absolute dogs compared to any other

Yup, now the old Celeron...that was a performer... based upon the P3
core for what I belief to remember.

The P4 core just NEEDS it's cache to function well! Without sufficient
cache it just... well doesn't performs. Intel should have kept it an
256kb cache..then it atleast would have a bit of power and
performance....
