I'd like to know what the Office Startup Assistant is useful for, and how
important it is that it run all the time.
I don't have Office, Word as part of the Works Suite. Is that relevant?

Hi, JD,

The purpose of OSA is to make Office applications (which Word is,
regardless of whether you bought Office or Works) start faster. You
may or may not notice the difference. If you don't care, then it's
perfectly safe to move the OSA shortcut out of the Startup folder.

Depending on what version of Works Suite you have, read one of these
