OS shown as NT in Environment Variables and in Error Reporting?

Hello!
This may be a silly question, however, I tend to be anal and would like to
know this is OK. In the Advanced tab of System Properties under 'Environment
Variables' and when a error report message is sent by me, my OS is shown as
NT. I am using Windows XP SP2. Is this normal? If not, why would this be
shown?
Thanks in advance for your responses!

Normal. Windows Operating System families are as follows:

GUI Shells that ride on top of MS DOS => Win 3.x, Win 95, Win 98, Win ME

New Technology (NT) [written from the ground up as a non-DOS Operating
System. More stable, more robust, and more secure than a DOS-based OS] =>
Win NT, Win 2000, Win XP.

Win XP, in other words, is a more grown-up version of Windows NT. At the
Kernel level, it is still NT.

Hope this helps,

Thanks so much for the rapid response! Yes, this makes me feel much better. I
learn something new everyday! ^^
