HELP ME!!

I am in the middle of presenting an Intro to PowerPoint and have created an
organisation chart. When using animation, is there any way you can ask
PowerPoint to bring each one of the people onto the screen individually?

You can do this will bullets, tables etc but can't seem to do it with an
organisation chart??

Please help.

Thank you.

Louise

Yes, but ....

Good Morning Louise.,

Option 1 --
Masking the OrgChart shapes with non-OrgChart shapes. By covering a
OrgChart Worker shape with a simple rectangle that has the same color as the
background, you can exit animate the mask to reveal the underlying OrgChart
element. This will not move with the OrgChart and makes the OrgChart
difficult to see on the edit window of PowerPoint, but does preserve the
ability to change the OrgChart quickly.

Option 2 --
There is a way to separate the elements of the OrgChart into animateable
(not a word, but you know what I mean) shapes, but you will loose the
OrgChart functionality (darn if that doesn't sound way too corporate). When
the OrgChart is completed, right click and save as a picture. Select the
EMF picture type. Delete the original OrgChart (or move it off the slide).
Insert the EMF picture you just saved. Right click on it and Un-group (you
may need to have PowerPoint convert it first, just say yes if asked). You
may need to repeat the un-group command. The OrgChart image is now
separated into its component parts (lines, text, shapes) that can be
animated or modified at your desire. Note that some connecting lines may be
doubled, so you will need to play a bit.

Hi Bill

Thanks ever so much for this. Microsoft didn't make this bit very easy did
they!!!

Thanks again.

Louise

It isn't too bad. In fact, it is an amazing improvement over DOS. But for
all that, there still are some aspects that are simply not intuitive.

Glad this helped.

Here is another approach which will help. Select the Org Chart and
right-click the mouse, select custom animation and the effect you wish. In
the effects Task pane select the animation and click on the arrow. Go down to
effect options. There you choose the tab labeled Diagram animation, you can
choose to bring the elements in the chart up in several different ways. Hope
this helps and Good Luck

I've used that before, but dislike the lack of custom options. I probably
should have mentioned it. Thank you.
