Optimum Video Config for Win XP Prof SP2

B

Bob Jones

I just added a LCD wide screen monitor and am unfamiliar with the optimum
config for the video to support this monitor.I use an Intel Mbd with Intel
graphics adapter.

The monitor has the jitters on all text and images and I want to eliminate
the video setup before talking to the monitor folks. The monitor is an Acer
AL1916WA and I finally got the Acer driver downloaded and installed..

The jitters come and go and are not related to power-on time on the monitor.

Any advice/help is certainly appreciated.

In order to optimize an LCD - you run it at what is known as the monitor's
native resolution...

I belive your monitor may be 1440 x 900.

I cannot find a spec for the monitor for native resolution, spec is for
1440X900 but no mention of native. My Intel graphics adapter will not support
that high of resolution. The highest support is 1132X869.Any way to
update/change the adapter?

I did fix the jitters by setting the refresh rate higher but when I set the
resolution to 1132X869 I cannot get the page content to fill the windows
screens.

Can anyone refer me to any reading about setting video adapters and the
meaning of the settings? This stuff is Greek to me.

Thank you.

Assuming you have a desktop, install a video card
And also assuming you first tried updating your graphics from mobo site
