Optical mouse

At work I am using the same optical mouse that I use at
home. Both are on Microsoft XP. At home I have
Intellimouse 4.0 software and at work 5.0. It seems that
in 5.0 you can no longer use the side buttons of the
mouse for shift or delete. Does anyone know how I can get
the 4.0 software or what I can do with 5.0 to enable
these functions again?
