Opteron on a Foxconn Winfast Nvidia 6100M2MA board?

Hello all.

At first I hope not to ask a too stupid question as I'm a software guy
and not a hardware one. ;)
And sorry for posting from google, I'm not at home right now :(

In November I bought a new machine with a Foxconn Winfast Nvidia
6100M2MA board with a Sempron64 3500+ (2.1GHz) and 1GB RAM.

As I am a Linux geek, who also needs to use Windows (XP) I'm would
like to use Xen which supports XP on HT capable CPUs like the Opteron.

The question now is, if my board would support Opterons?

Some more details about the board:

Supported sockets: 939, 754, AM2
CPUs according to handbook: Sempron, Athlon64, Athlon64 X2, Athlon FX
FSB: 2000 MT/s HyperTransport
RAM: Dual channel DDR2 533/667/800
Max CPU clock: 3000GHz

The only reason, why I came up with the idea of getting an Opteron, is
that I heard the it is similar to the FX which my board supports.

So, would my board support Opterons? Or would an FX work with Xen?

TIA
Mirko

Socket AM2 Athlon 64s have the same virtualization support as the current
Opterons. Older A64s, socket 939 and 754, lack the virtualization
hardware.

And the answer is no, it won't.

The board only has 1 cpu socket and that's for an AM2 CPU.
CPUs according to handbook: Sempron, Athlon64, Athlon64 X2, Athlon FX

Yep, any of these as long as they are socket AM2 versions.

Thank you both! (And sorry for the delay)
If I can use any AM2 CPU, then the buy will be much less pain ;)
