opening WP files with XP Pro

Just upgraded computers and the new system came with XP Pro
loaded. Strangely, it cannot open my old Word Perfect
files, which originally had a wpd file extension, and now
suddenly have a WP extension since I tried to open the
files with XP. What gives? How can I get these files to
open with my Word Perfect 9 program?

When did you see the file extensions change, and what were you doing? I
don't see how this could happen on its own. When you copied the files over,
did they look normal?

If you open Word Perfect, can you browse to/open the files?

At any rate, this isn't really an operating system question - I'd try a
WordPerfect group for best results.
