opening word document accross the network

Hi,
I have a user who wishes to edit a very large document ( 200 + pages) accross the network - rather then saving the document locally and placing the updated copy back on the server.

But they are have problems with the document not be opened etc is there any way around this?

Way to get around this: copy the file to a local drive, and edit. When
done, copy back. Don't edit file on a remote/low speed network connection.

The fact is, Word needs to load the entire file before it can work on
it. It also creates temp files which also contribute to delays.
