Opening two copies of same workbook

Excel is opening two copies of the same workbook when the workbook is opened.
They are called name1 and name2. We only want one to open. The other one
doesn't even really exist. It is just a copy. This has just started happening
in a shared workbook that has been functioning properly for a year.

Is it possible you have inadvertantly opened a new window? If you did,
they'd probably be named as name:1 and name:2. If so, you can just close one
of them. If you've got 2 windows into the same worksheet, and if you close
the whole application, then both windows will open when you open the
worksheet.

Maybe when you start excel, you are double-double-clicking.

Using Windows Xp, Excel is slow to open. you may think that you did not
click "hard enough" and click to open again.
