Opening some websites, FrontPage tries to install

On some websites I go to, a window opens telling me to "Please wait while
Windows configures Microsoft FrontPage 2000."

A few moment later, another window says "Error 1706. No valid source could
be found for product Microsoft FrontPage 2000. The Windows installer could
not continue."

I click on CANCEL for the first window, OK for the second, and the website
opens normally.

It's just an annoyance, but I'm wondering what's happening.

Some background info:
1) This happens at both "naughty" websites and others our mothers would visit.
2) I already have FrontPage 2000 installed, and in fact use it to produce my
personal website (not naughty).
3) Everything else in my 1-year-old computer is working fine.
4) I'm running XP Home, IE7, and WMP11. The problem I'm describing predates
my installing IE7 and WMP11 (both of which I think are great, by the way, and
hats off to MS).

Google has plenty of "Error 1706" entries, as does this site, but nothing
quite matching my situation. Most often they're related to a new program
install, not internet surfing.

Hope someone has experience with this. Thanks for all help.

Honest, this is an XP issue, not an internet or FrontPage one. I think,
anyway. Please take another look. -- Steve
