opening safe attachments

Whenever anyone sends me any attachment, Outlook blocks me from opening it,
including .doc files which I need to open. How do I tell Outlook to allow me
to open these files?
 
Goto Outlook->Tools->Options->Security tab-> and
UNCHECK "Do Not allow attachement to be saved or opened that could
potentially be a virus.
