When I try to open a hyperlink in an email (Outlook 2003), I get an error
message saying, "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in
effect on your computer. Please contact your system administrator." My
security settings are:

Securtiy Zone: Internet
Run active x and plug-ins- admin approved

Any idea what's blocking this and how to set permission?

Google Groups is your friend. This question has been asked and answered
hundreds of times. Nearly always the answer is to open Internet Explorer
(if that's your web browser) and click Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Reset
Web Settings.

Brian! Viola, it is fixed! Thank you so much. I will also remember Google
Groups as a resource :)

I tried that, but I don't get an option "Reset Web Settings." What I did
notice was that internet Explorer wasn't set as the default web browser, so I
selected it as such, but that didn't enable opening the link in the email
message.
