Opening files with different applications

(XP machines) - I have drawings with .dwg extension. (they were created in
Auotcad). I installed Adobe Illustrator before installing Voloview now all
the .dwg extensions open in Illustrator. I went to folder option's > file
types and chose .dwg to open with VoloView. However they still show the
illutrator icon and if I right click a file a choose open with I do get both
choices. How can I have it default back to Voloview?

go to my computer or windows explorer window.

Tools/ Folder Options/ File types tab

Select the DWG extention

Use the change button to pick your application (voloview)

Yes I did that however they still show and open with the illustrator icon.
