opening files simultaneously with same name but different path

In Excel 2007, it won't let the two files with the same name be open at the
same time, even though they're really 2 separate files with different paths.
Is there a way around this aside from saving one in 2003 format and one in
2007 format?
 
That is not an issue of XL2007. No version of XL has ever let you open two
files with the same name.
 
Can always tempoarily rename one of them. Add a 1 at the end or something.
Then, when done, close the other file, save as the changed file back to
original name.
