opening files - autocomplete file path

Hi - I am trying to find a setting that will enable the file browser to
autocomplete the file path when you are trying to open a file. my hard drive
crashed so all my previous settings were blown away. It used to be that when
I started opening a file, if I started typing in the browser window, the file
path would auto complete.

for example, if I were going to "c:\my documents", as soon as I typed
"c:\my" then the rest of the c:\my documents string would appear in the
browser would appear automatically. Does anyone know how to enable this
feature? It used to work both on opening or saving files - ie whenever you
are browsing for files from the "file \ open" command ...

I found out how to do it:

When you begin typing a file or folder name in Common dialog box (Open /
Save As) in an application, the Auto Complete drop-down will appear by
default. To prevent the AutoComplete dropdown from appearing, follow these
steps.

Click Start, Run and type REGEDIT and press Enter

Navigate to the following key:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete

Double-click AutoComplete In File Dialog value and set it's value to yes,
and then click OK.

Close Registry Editor
