opening emails problem

When cliking on a recived email in Outlook 2003 there is a delay before the
email opens, once open the same problem occurs when trying to open the next
email.

Where are the messages located - on a local PST file, or on a remote server?

Messages located on remote server, I am using hotmail plus in Outlook.

That makes perfect sense; in fact I experience exactly the same. When I
open a message that is located on my remote Exchange Server (at the
other side of the planet), there is a short delay until the message has
been transferred from the server to my local computer.

When I open a message that has been archived to a local PST folder, they
open instantly.
