opening e mail attachments in IE6

When I opem word document attachments it always defaults to Microsoft Access
and thus I can't open them.If I save the doc first it opens fine.Any ideas
how to stop my attachments defaulting to Access as its driving me nuts

Windows version?

Save a DOC file to your hard-drive > (Shift+)Right-click on it > Select
appropriate application (e.g., MS Word) & check the "Always open with..."
box.
