Opening Attachments

Recently I had some problems with my Outlook, where it was locking up and
stalling. It is back to normal now, but whenever I try and open an Excel or
Word attachment for example, the program freezes and I have to shut down the
program and start it over.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this problem? Thank you
for your help.
