Opening attachment in Microsoft Word vs. Wordpad

When I receive an attachment in Office it always opens at Wordpad rather than
Microsoft Word. How do I change this setting?
 
Outlook uses the default file handler in Windows.
You might want to try the following:
Make sure it is a .doc file. Save a .doc file to your desktop and right
click on it -> go to properties.
Then where it says "Opens with:" make sure it says Microsoft Word for
windows or something like that. If not click on Change... and select MS
Word. Hit ok.
Close Outlook and you might want to reboot to make sure the change sticks.

After that, try again.
