opening a folder

Okay this was working before but now it won't work. I open my documents or any folder, and I try to double click on another folder to open it. But It searches instead of opening the folder, I go into the options of a file folder and look and see what the options are to opening it but all it has is "play in winamp" "enque in wniamp" or "find" and I need one that says "open" or "browse" or something. Someone please help me get it back to how it was! Its very annoying!
