I get messages to open a .pps file. When I click it, I am asked to download
which I do, however, the only option I get is to save it, not run it from
that screen. Help!

do you have powerpoint
if not do a Google for the Powerpoint reader

Peter - Many thanx. I downloaded PowerPoint & all the messages opened right
up. So nice to have you wizards out there available to us un-savvy computer
users.

Glad to hear your problem is solved, but let me clarify what you downloaded.
It's a PowerPoint *Viewer*, not PowerPoint itself. The viewer lets you look
at pps files others have created, but you can't create them yourself. To do
that, you need PowerPoint, not the PowerPoint viewer, and that is not
legally available for download.

Ken- I wouldn't have a clue as to how to create my own Power Point
presentation. Basically, it's nice to see the presentations prepared by
others that find it's way around in e-mail. For me, the viewer is probably
all I need. Unless, you can think of some reason I need to learn how to do
this, I'll leave it status quo. Have a good Sunday & thanx again.

You're welcome, and that's fine. I certainly wasn't trying to convince you
to get something other than what you had, just trying to clarify what it
was. You called it "PowerPoint," and lest you think that's what it was, I
wanted to clarify that it isn't.
