Just installed Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer for Windows
XP (KB905915)

Now when I right click and open link in new window there is a 3-4 second
pause before the window appears and opens. If I just left click the window
opens instantly.

Is this caused by the security update?? Any fixes its really annoying.

Thanx

Nothing wrong in trying that REG. It simply delete this registry key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{C90250F3-4D7D-4991-9B69-A5C5BC1C2AE6}

This key is not required for IE6 anyway, so you lose nothing by trying that
solution.

Reading the second blog link in this article it seems to be a problem with
running IE7 beta alongside IE6?? The fix seems to be removing the registry
entry which is written when IE7 beta is installed.

I havent installed IE7???

Just searched registry and that key isnt present.

Thanks for your reply. Any other ideas?? I could alway uninstall the
update. It seems that making XP secure is leading to loss or slowing of
functionality.
