I can open the last file I worked on in Word by doubleclicking on an icon
with
"c:\program files\office 11\winword.exe" /mFile1
as the target. Also I can have /mFile2 to get the second previous file, and
so on.

Is there a similar way to do this in PowerPoint? The /mFile1 command
line item is not shown on the MS KnowBase, and does not work for Powerpoint.

Thanks.

If I undertand your question correctly, the answer is yes. You should have a
list of recent files in your File drop down menu. If not go to Tool > Options
General, then write in the desired number of recent files you want to show
in the dropdown menu.

This isn't on any list of command line options I've seen for PowerPoint.

What we have is listed here:

Command Line Switches - PowerPoint and PowerPoint Viewers

Not much help for the current question, but it's there in case you need to know
later.
