Open/Import MIcrosoft project file

Having problems running GanttProject, it does not find the JRE even though I
have SE v1.4.2_03, _04 & _05 installed. I want to see if it will open /
import a m$ project file.

Is there a project tool which will open / import a Microsoft project file?

Try Open Workbench, the free version of Project Workbench by Niku.
www.openworkbench.org (IIRC)

Search alt.comp.freeware or the project management newsgroup in google
group archives for other ideas.

Thanks for that. In a recent post on an Open Workbenck forum it was said "
We felt that the import/export of data would be of high importance to the
Open Workbench community and with the next version (1.1) we'll be addressing
some of the issues. OpenWorkbench will be able to open and save its own
format of xml files. The current plan for the 1.1 version is to also allow
the importing of MSP files, most likely XML format, as well."
