I am trying to open Ports on XP Home firewall. I made it
as far as My Network Places. In there there is supposed to
be "Network Tasks" It's not there!! Any ideas why it
wouldn't be there?

I was there at the time I started this thread.

Step 1 reads: Click Start, and then click My Network
Places.

Ok, I followed step 1

Step 2 reads: Under Network Tasks, click View Network
Connections. (Or, you can right-click My Network Places on
the desktop, and then click Properties.)

And there is where my problem is, there is no "Network
Tasks" nor is there a "View Network Connection"

I can't complete step 2 let alone get to steps 3 through 10

Ok I found it.

I should have known you can't follow microsoft's
directions exactly

From Microsoft: Step 1. Click Start, and then click My
Network Places.

What I did: Click Start, Right Click My Network Places,
chose properties.

From Microsoft: Step 2. Under Network Tasks, click View
Network Connections. (Or, you can right-click My Network
Places on the desktop, and then click Properties.)

What I did: Right Click "Local Area Connections", chose
properties, clicked advanced Tab, Settings.
