open file window size

When I try to open a file, it opens in full screen. How
do I go back to a smaller open window size?
 
you'll need to be more specific on how you are opening a file. Are yo
opening the file through code? or are you opening a file by clickin
on a shortcut ? etc ...

What operating system are you using? If Windows XP, resize the windo
to a smaller size and close the window. Any futher instances of th
application will then be opened to the dimensions of the last close
Excel window.
