Open file problem - Help please

I have installed Excel 97 to a windows XP pro machine and the Excel 97 has
been upgraded to service pack 2.

When I open the excel 97 file from windows explorer, excel 97 encountered
error and the message is

"A document with the name "filename.xls" is already open. You cannot open
two document with the same name. even if document are in diferent folder.
....."

But if I open the excel 97 file from Excel program. The file retrieved
properly.

Please assist.

Hi Casey!

If you first exit Excel, then select Run from the startmenu and enter the
command:
"excel.exe /unregserver" (without quotationmarks) then press OK
Select Run again from the Startmenu and enter the command:
"excel.exe /regserver" (without quotationmarks), press OK

Now try open the file again.
